Gay Singer Matt Alber strikes a chord.

Posted on Friday, October 16, 2009 in Music, Video Clip

Gay singer Matt Alber has a lot going for him.  He's got a Grammy nod for his past work in the group Chanticleer.  His singing style is unique and takes you to a place we can all identify with.  Matt is down to earth and his voice swirls and hits those high notes with ease.  Last November, Matt released the CD "Hide Nothing" and he is gaining popularity in the music world.  His video for the single "End of the World" just might be one of the best gay themed videos out there.  It's set in a barber shop and turns out to be quite romantic.

I've heard Matt sing this song accapella on the FestofFun.com podcast...and it was flawless.  You can find Matt Alber on Amazon.com by clicking the box below.  Click the play button and you can preview all of Matt's songs.  Be sure to buy the acoustic version of End of the World.  Matt...you are a true artist.

Obama speaks at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner, embraces gays.

Obama attempted to do some damage control this past weekend.  The Gay & Lesbian Community has been very vocal with their worry that some of Obama's promises are going to be left on the side of the road.  Sure, the United States is going though some bad times.  Economy is on the mend, World Relations is trying to be improved...and there is the Healthcare Reform mess.  Well, the Gay & Lesbian Community feels that Obama is not acting fast enough on his promises.

President Obama promised to end the Don't Ask, Don't Tell military policy...yet nothing has been done to get rid of it.  He also expressed his disapproval of DOMA (Defensive Marriage Act).  DOMA is what is standing in the way of a Nationally recognized Gay Marriage law.

On October's Equal Rights March, President Obama took time to address the Gay & Lesbian Community at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner.  This is only the 2nd time in history that a President has spoken to a group that is marching on Washington.  While the speech was powerful...some are still worried that the time line was not defined and will get pushed out.  Obama says he is still against DOMA and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, and will end them.  He stops short of saying when.

Take a look at the video of his speech below.  President Obama, please help us obtain the Equal Rights we as Americans deserve.

Interracial couples now being denied marriage.

Posted on Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Civil Rights, Discrimination, Equal Rights

In an interesting turn of events...an interracial couple in Louisiana was recently denied a marriage license from a local justice of the piece in Hammond.  Kieth Barwell denied the license by saying he 'did it for the children'.  He expanded and said that according  to his experience, interracial couples 'do not last long' and that would be wrong to place the potential children they might have in that situation.

Wow.  It's amazing on how these people are crawling out of the wood work.  I'm sure this will get many people outraged and will speak up.  We all need to band together and push for equal rights for ALL AMERICANS!  The crazy thing...is that the justice of the piece knew he was doing something illegal.  What is going on out there??
